The SMU Mothers’ and Dads’ Clubs have been providing support and information for parents and families of SMU students since 1926.  We are committed to strengthening the partnership between the university and its families.  We encourage you to join us as partners with SMU in providing an atmosphere of care and support for your student both in and out of the classroom.

 

The goals of the clubs include:

• Providing information to parents and families about the resources available on campus

• Promoting parent/family participation in campus events and activities

• Sponsoring campus events and activities that enhance the experiences of both students and their families throughout the academic year

• Providing opportunities for parents to meet and get to know other parents/families, as well as university faculty and administrators

 

How We Help

 

Support

The SMU Mothers’ and Dads’ Clubs are information and support resources for all parents and families! We work closely with the Office of Parent & Family Programs in strengthening communications with the university, in promoting parent participation in university events, and in involving parents in ways that support your student’s SMU experience.

 

Access

Members of the SMU Mothers’ and Dads’ Clubs work throughout the year on such campus initiatives as AARO, Thirst Aid during move-in day, the Mustang Cookout, Boulevard Parent Tent, Family Weekend activities, Homecoming parade, selection and recognition of SMU’s Outstanding Senior Man and Woman, just to name a few.  Our Spring Gifts campaign supports campus programming and activities, and our endowed scholarship funds support undergraduates each year in their educational pursuits.   

 

Information

A good source for information throughout the year is the SMU Mothers’ and Dads’ Clubs’ weekly newsletter that highlights important information as it occurs on campus.  We also encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for additional information.

 

Involvement

By joining the SMU Mothers’ and Dads’ Clubs, we offer opportunities to become involved in many university activities and to meet other parents and families from your area regardless of whether you live in the Dallas area or in another state or country.  We are here to help you become a part of the SMU family!
